This is my work area. I've used
magazine holders to store tissue paper and gift bags for easy access.

I've invested in storage bins that I like and can be labeled on
the outside.
 Lee Valley Tools has
great storage bins for trinkets, beads or anything small...they are inexpensive
and easy to use.

A turn table isn't limited to the
kitchen...it's great for easy access of your crafts.
--I've created binders that are labeled and organized
with ideas that I've pulled out of magazines for years. It's better than saving
the magazine and having to page through it each time.
I've used a magnetic knife rack to store my
tools.
 You can use tool
storage bins for your craft supplies.

TIPS TO
GETTING STARTED "You gotta get organized" as my father would
say. Well, it's hard to start the process of organizing your home without a
plan. Start small, take baby steps and in no time you'll be headed in the right
direction and won't be able to stop. Here are some sample ideas for organizing
your home. ---Every time you go to another room searching for
something
.STOP and think about why you've put the item away from where
you use it most. Keep a notebook and quickly jot down thoughts and frustrations
about where and how you've stored these items. This will help you create a plan
that works for you. When writing these things down, as yourself: How often do I
use this item? Is it easily accessible if I need it right away? If I bought two
of these items to keep in different places in my home, would it be worth the
investment? Do I really need this item? ---If you question your needs for
an item, put it in a special box in the garage and don't open it for a year. If
you haven't missed it, then it is just cluttering your home. ---Keep an
"INBOX" in your kitchen of mail that needs to be saved and filed. Then when you
have time, you can file everything away in your organized filing
cabinet. ---Invest in a labeler.....and use it often. ---Invest in
containers and organizing accessories that you love...you'll want to keep
things up if you like the containers. Plan ahead and know what you will be
organizing...what size containers you'll need, where will they go in your
home....etc... ---If you find yourself in a rut, call me and I can help you
organize your closet, kitchen, office and life....in a way that works for
you...and your wallet. (515) 208-8446 ---Do you have hundreds of magazines
you want to refer to for ideas but never have the time to page through them?
Rip out the pages you want and make your very own IDEA BOOK. ---Do you go
out to buy last minute thank you or birthday gifts & spend a fortune? Buy a
lot of a good thing on sale & have gifts ready to go. ---Ever dread to
wrap a package cause you've stored the bags and tissue paper so far out of
reach? Magazine holders work perfectly! ---Have lots of beads, crafts or
trinkets all over your house? Organize them in these cases made for jewelers
from Lee Valley Tools. ($2.50-$6.75) ---Are you losing those tiny baby
socks in the washer? Or spending time pinning them together? Use a lingerie
bag. ---Do you throw away all those birthday or holiday cards you receive?
Why not make them into perfect tags for bags or presents. |
